Nancy Springer News
Even with the wild success of the Netflix series based on her Enola Holmes mysteries, Springer is suggesting retirement.
The Enola Holmes series is a delightful collection of full length novels in the young adult category which detail the exploits of Enola, Sherlock’s most enterprising, clever, and intrepid sister. Young Enola is quite the detective in her own right. She’s also jas quite the sense of humor.
Nancy Springer first released the books in 2006 with The Case of the Missing Marquess. According to her website, both that book and the fifth in the series were nominated for Edgar Awards. The last of the ten books is called Enola Holmes and the Clanging Coffin and is a definite puzzler. Just fabulous.
Books seven through ten of the series are enjoying new printings with nicely done, elegant covers. These look perfect as gifts for those friends who enjoy collecting.
Although her website mentions her retirement, there are a couple of events in the near future involving this wondrous author. A Simon & Schuster release titled Transcendence and Other Stories will be available on Amazon and Kindle with a date of May 26. It’s billed as a collection of literary fiction. I am looking forward to reading it.
Finally, Enola Holmes 3 is coming to Netflix later this year with Philip Barantini directing, reports MovieNews. More later.
